Diakinisis Kritis SA
Industrial / Logistics

The project concerns the design of a new two-storey industrial building in the Heraklion Industrial Area, primarily intended for product distribution and storage, while also accommodating administration and support office spaces on the upper floor. The architectural proposal is organized around a clear, compact industrial volume, where functionality, recognizability and corporate identity form the central elements of the composition.

The new industrial building of Diakinisis Kritis SA is designed as a contemporary logistics facility, capable of supporting demanding operations of distribution, storage and administrative organization. The main storage and operational zones are developed on the ground floor, while the administration and support office spaces are placed on the upper floor, creating a clear distinction between the industrial and administrative functions of the building.

The morphology of the project is based on a strict, large-scale volume, clad with a vertical metal surface and given rhythm through the linear texture of the façade. The clarity of the envelope reinforces the industrial identity of the building, while the elongated openings, strong horizontal gestures and signage elements operate as points of reference in its external image.

The entrance is treated as a distinctive architectural event. The curved frame, the strong corporate signage and the differentiation of scale create a recognizable frontage, without compromising the restraint of the overall composition. At the same time, the loading areas, ramps, service doors and external circulation routes are organized in a way that directly supports the daily operation of the building.

The study incorporates parking areas around the plot, accessible parking spaces, heavy vehicle spaces and provision for electric vehicle charging points, connecting the functional infrastructure with contemporary mobility and service requirements. The result is a building with a clear industrial logic, a strong corporate presence and an architectural identity that responds to the character of a modern distribution centre.
