IKONES Luxury Suites is a hospitality project located in Heraklion, Crete. The design is defined by large horizontal frames, recessed balconies and a limited palette of light surfaces, dark metal and glass.

A contemporary hospitality building in Heraklion

The building is organised through a series of deep balconies, enclosed by strong rectangular frames. This arrangement gives the façades a clear structure while providing shade and protected outdoor space for the suites.

A vertical perforated metal screen breaks the horizontal development of the building and marks its main circulation core. The same perforated pattern is repeated along the boundary, connecting the building with the entrance and the street frontage.

The material palette is intentionally limited. White rendered surfaces are combined with darker recessed areas, metal elements and transparent glass balustrades. The contrast between the light exterior frames and the shaded balconies gives depth to the elevations and changes their appearance throughout the day.

Planting is introduced along the perimeter to provide privacy at ground level and soften the transition between the property and the surrounding residential area. Exterior lighting is integrated into the façades, highlighting the rhythm of the openings and making the building easily recognisable after sunset.

The project develops a clear and restrained architectural identity, adapted to the scale of its neighbourhood and to the climatic conditions of Heraklion.
