Residential and Office Building on Daliani Street
Residential

A five-storey residential and office building in the urban fabric of Heraklion, designed as a contemporary infill project on a narrow city plot.
Year: 2021
Location: Daliani Street 14, Heraklion, Crete
Area: 280 m²
Status: Completed
The project concerns the design of a new five-storey building for residential and office use on Daliani Street 14, in the city of Heraklion. Located on a narrow and elongated urban plot, the building develops vertically, creating a clear and contemporary architectural presence within the dense city fabric.
The façade is composed through layered frames, glass balustrades and dark metal elements, which add depth and rhythm to the elevation. The balconies are treated not as isolated projections, but as integral parts of the architectural composition, giving the building a coherent and recognizable identity.

At ground level, the entrance is designed as a calm and protected transition from the street to the interior. Glass surfaces, stone-like finishes and precise geometric lines create a refined lobby space that reinforces the urban character of the project.

The design responds to the limitations of the plot through vertical organization, carefully framed openings and controlled material contrasts. The white architectural volume provides clarity and lightness, while darker details and integrated lighting introduce a more contemporary and distinctive expression.

The result is a compact yet highly urban building that fits into the city while maintaining its own architectural identity. Through its clean geometry, careful materiality and structured façade, the project proposes a contemporary interpretation of the small-scale city apartment building.
